Features

Charts, depth, execution and discipline in one app

TickSync runs on your Windows desktop alongside DAS Trader Pro, using your own IQFeed market data. The download also includes TickSync Scanner and TickSync Analyzer.

  • Real-time tick charts

Tick-by-tick price charts that update live from the IQFeed Level 1 feed.

  • Candle charts, seconds to daily

Timeframes from seconds up to daily, with VWAP, EMAs and an RVOL (relative volume) row.

  • Volume profile

Session POC, VAH and VAL, prior-day levels, and a rolling value area over the last N bars.

  • Footprint and delta

Volume traded at the bid and ask inside each candle, shown as net delta or bid × ask.

  • Level 2 and Time & Sales

Market depth and the tape side by side, from IQFeed Nasdaq Level II data.

  • News, earnings and halts

Badges on the chart for news headlines, earnings dates and trading halts on the symbol you are watching.

  • DAS Trader hotkey integration

Works with DAS Trader Pro hotkeys behind safety interlocks, including cancel-first exits and exit protection. During the beta, automatic exits and entry lines are Off to start; set one to Audit to see what it would send. Audit sends nothing.

  • Trade lines on the chart

Armed entry lines, hard stops and take-profit lines, drawn directly on the chart.

  • TickSync Scanner

Watches the whole U.S. market for names that are actually moving, and loads any of them into TickSync’s charts with one click.

  • TickSync Analyzer

Reviews the sessions TickSync records and writes a plain-language report, with an optional package to discuss with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Rules and discipline tools

Rules you set ahead of the session, checked by the app as you trade.

  • Trading windowsDefine the times of day you trade, with a guard for entries outside them.
  • No averaging downA guard against adding to a losing position.
  • Post-loss cooldownA pause on new entries after a losing trade.
  • Minimum risk per shareA minimum distance between entry and stop for new trades.
  • Pre-trade questionnaireA short checklist to answer before entries are enabled for a trading window.

Requirements

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Your own DTN IQFeed subscription — for market data. Level 2 is optional. Open one of DTN’s IQFeed programs, such as IQCharts, and log in before opening TickSync; TickSync can’t start IQFeed by itself. The scanner and TickSync’s charts share your IQFeed symbol limit.
  • About 20 GB of free disk space — TickSync keeps the last 5 trading days of recorded session data and deletes older days.
  • DAS Trader Pro — optional. The charts, the scanner and the Analyzer work with any broker, or none; numpad hotkeys and symbol sync need DAS.
  • A beta key from the developer — see Beta access.
Install

Install in 4 steps

TickSync installs like any Windows program, for your Windows account only, with no administrator password.

  1. Download

Download TickSync-Setup.exe. If your browser says the file isn’t commonly downloaded, choose Keep. In Edge, Keep may be under the arrow on the Delete button; if it then asks you to make sure you trust the file, click that arrow again and choose Keep anyway.

  2. Run the installer

Open TickSync-Setup.exe and follow its steps. It asks which programs get a desktop shortcut and, on an up-to-date Windows 11, which to pin to the taskbar; TickSync, TickSync Scanner and TickSync Analyzer are in the Start menu either way.

  3. Open TickSync

Open IQCharts (or another IQFeed program) and log in, so IQFeed is connected, then open TickSync from the Start menu or your desktop. TickSync Scanner and TickSync Analyzer open from TickSync’s Menu. If you chose to pin them, Windows asks you to confirm the first time each one opens.

If Windows SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info then Run anyway.

This appears for the installer because the beta is not code-signed yet.

  4. Enter your beta key

Paste your beta key when the app asks for it.

Your files: everything of yours is in Documents\TickSync: shortcuts to the three programs, your Recorded Sessions, Trade Journal and Scanner Lists. Updating: run the newest TickSync-Setup.exe; it replaces the old version and keeps your settings. Uninstalling: Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → TickSync → Uninstall; your settings and recorded sessions stay in your user folders. Prefer a zip? Each release has one too.
